Planet Nine Update ~ 15 May 2025

The Sun conjoins Uranus in Taurus a few days hence. This should be good for some grounded disruption. As well, Venus in Aries closes in on the partile trine to Mars in Leo, applying just the right about of lubricant to sticky situations. Maybe, possibly, when a new idea arrives, immediate application can be perceived straight away. Could this signal earthshaking, consciousness stirring energy that smoothly settles into the psyche? Perhaps. That certainly is one way of reading it.

Speaking of reading it, recently I encountered a news post that promised to update how the search for Planet Nine was going. So, I followed the rabbit hole to an astronomical abstract detailing the current state of the Planet Nine search. It’s definitely happening. In fact, a candidate for Planet Nine has shown up in two deep infrared search sightings separated by twenty-three years! Because the object’s distance is likely extreme, the planet by all expectations will be dim and difficult to see optically and far more inclined to “show up” in the IFR spectrum. More searching is ongoing. Planet Nine’s theorhetical existence explains an unusual bunching of orbits of objects in the Kuiper Belt, Sedna included.

If this object spotted in IFR detectors is Planet Nine, current projections have it with a mass greater than Neptune and it would orbit 700 times more distant than the Earth from the Sun! Of course, historically, many astronomical projections proved false.

A place holder, interim name for this object is Telisto - a name shared with a moon of Saturn. Telisto is an Oceanid, one of about 3,000 water-nymphs conceived by Titans parents, Oceanus and Tethys. In the category of uber-cool, she personifies divine blessing or success.

Of course this is an interim name. The naming will be conducted by the astronomer(s) who “discover” the object. According to the estimated orbit of Planet Nine, the name should be a creation or resurrection deity per current naming criteria.

But first, the object requires confirmation. Then, it requires verification of its orbital track and physical parameters. Initially, the object receives a date designation “name.” For Eris the designation was 2003 UB313; for Sedna 2003 VB12. Once there is an orbit defined the object will receive a solar system object number - typically assigned to minor planets. For Eris the number was 136199; for Sedna, 90377. Currently these designation numbers approach 800,000. If Planet Nine possesses a huge mass and diameter, this could all proceed in its own unique way as it would not be a minor solar system object. Once they arrive at a preliminary refined orbit, it needs to be confirmed by review by other parties prior to public announcement. This can take some time. Basically, this requires more sightings by whatever frequency best works and then tweaking of the orbital elements. This happens with all planets/objects and refinements constantly occur for planetary objects for which we perceive the orbits as stable. When the orbit is confirmed, then and only then, can it be properly named.

The nodes (heliocentric) of an object traditionally seem to be stable at the outset. The perihelion degree (usually the argument of perihelion) takes longer to refine. However, once refined, even if the object remains unnamed, astrological interpretation assessment can commence as the nodes and perihelion provide zodiacal reference.

At this point, pausing and reflecting seems a good thing to do.

What does this mean? A new planet of notable mass and diameter probably exists far out in our solar system. Because it orbits the Sun, it would be part of our solar system and a planet, despite its distance. Would it be too far away to have an influence? That’s a revision of the argument that an attending doctor at a child’s birth exerts more gravitational influence on a newborn than Jupiter (this is mathematically not correct). What sign would it rule? Nothing if you believe, in line with classical astrology, a ruling planet must be visible to the naked eye. Regardless, would this set the world on its ear?

At least astronomy books and courses would require updating. As would astrology books. But there will be those who point out that if you have an aspect with this planet at birth, likely the aspect would remain “in transit” for an entire lifetime. Is this disqualifying? Not at all. However if the name of the planet is radically benefic, explanation for why some people live charmed lives and others do not could be assigned - there’s a research project! Does this mean if no great aspect exists in the natal chart to the new planet a person has a less than ideal life? Transits to the new planet will operate and stimulate the collective to figure a way of conjuring something aligned with the transiting planet’s nature to inspire the optimal delineative traits of the new planet.

Will astrologers widely find ways to reject using this planet when (and if) discovered? Absolutely, they will. Should it be integrated? Absolutely, and as swiftly as possible. Given the perceived planet receives a name that is evolutionary in nature, this would suggest that humankind can grasp the energy of the planet and apply it to daily life with consequential and uplifting results in the shorter term. That alone, is worth the price of admission.

Is there a Planet Nine? Physical astronomical evidence points to the likelihood of such a possibility, much as orbital anomalies in the paths of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto promised. Of course, Edgeworth and Kuiper - both of whom theorized the existence of the Kuiper Belt, also known as the Edgeworth-Kuiper Belt - received more than their quota of eye rolls from skeptical astronomical colleagues.

Here’s the bottom line. Right now there is cosmic grease of the exact, proper consistency applied to personal planets (Venus trine Mars in fire signs). This indicates ease in outcomes. Further, Uranus and the Sun hold hands as they Allamande Left in longitude. Bottom line: More is out there. The yet unexpected will come to be known and realized. There is a hope... a promise... that something could shake the consciousness of the planet in such a way that evolution, compassion and aspiration toward the good always occur, no matter what.

When will Planet Nine be discovered? Will it shake the world in a good way? These are unknowns, and according to many, may never be known. However, the immediate times demand positive, constructive solutions. If this planet does exist, it wields influence now, regardless of discovery and its position in our cogent consciousness. Doesn’t this seem like the right time to respond to far-reaching cosmic signatures that inspire enhanced results, improved outcomes and progress on a wide spectrum?

You bet your sweet bippy it is.
